Welcome to the official website of the United States Taekwon-do Center and Red Tiger Taekwon-do. Established in 1983 by Master Mario Cancelliere under the "EL" (Elevated Station) in the Frankford section of Philadelphia , the USTC-RED TIGER has become one of the most recognizable and respected martial arts organizations of ITF-style Taekwon-do in the area. With various locations throughout Philadelphia and surrounding suburbs, the USTC hopes to spread Taekwon-do to students of all ages and socio-economic backgrounds. Through its family discounted programs, no contractual agreements, flexible hours and variety of classes, the USTC-Red Tiger demonstrates its commitment to students of all ages and abilities.
WOMEN'S SELF DEFENSE SEMINAR
Certified Rape-Escape Instructor and USTC 4th dan, Robert Schneider will conduct a Women's Empowerment Seminar for WOMEN ONLY on Saturday, March 3rd from 2;00 - 4:00 pm at USTC HQTS. This seminar is centered on the "Stay with People" principle and covers the most common sexual assault scenarios. (*Sexual assault scenarios means the student will actually learn how to escape from the very same positions in which rapists carry out their attacks.) This module is especially effective for attacks in parking lots, parking garages and other areas where it is imperative that you not be taken to a secondary location.
2012 RED TIGER CUP
Dear Grandmasters, Masters, Instructors and Students:
It is with great pleasure that we announce the 2012 RED TIGER CUP to be held on Saturday, May 19 th in the city of brotherly love - Philadelphia . You and your students are cordially invited to participate and support the 2012 RED TIGER CUP.
We have NEW DIVISIONS for this year's Red Tiger Cup and the schedule of events is as follows:
9:00–11:00 AM Adult BB Patterns, Team Patterns, Senior (31-40) & Super Senior (40-50) and Elite (50+)
11:00 – 1:00 PM Tiger Cubs (4-5), Little Tigers (6-7), Mini Pee Wee (8-9), Pee Wee (10-11)
1:00 – 3:00 PM Super Pee Wee (12-13), Junior (14-15), Super Jr. (16-18), Adult (19-30) & Adult BB Sparring
Lastly, beautiful trophies and medals will be awarded to the 1 st – 3 rd place winners in the individual events and a team trohpy for the Team Pattern Competition. Participation medals and certificates will be presented to all competitors. Please fill out applications COMPLETELY and SUBMIT BY THE APPROPRIATE DEADLINE.
